Appearing Saturday and Sunday
Tom Waite is a Florida native who found his calling when, as a young boy, he watched the James Bond thriller Moonraker being shot on the river that was his backyard. He did his first play in the 6th grade and never stopped. In high school, Waite took 2nd place in Improvisational Duet Performance and 1st place in Extemporaneous Speech in the Oklahoma state high school drama competition.
He pursued acting through college graduating with a BS in Drama, Television, and Film Performance. After graduation Waite auditioned for a touring theatre company and did over 500 performances in 22 countries, including performances by invitation, at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and The World’s Fair.
After touring, Waite booked national commercials for Office Depot and Chevy Truck allowing him to join the Screen Actors Guild. Soon he booked acting roles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ALIAS (for directors JJ Abrams and Ken Olin) Chuck, Castle and SuperGirl to name a few. Some of his film credits include: The Amazing Spider-Man, Ride Along, Rage, and All Nighter (2017). He has acted opposite Bradley Cooper, Nicolas Cage, Andrew Garfield and J.K. Simmons.
Waite is a former 1991 Oklahoma State Tae Kwon Do Champion and jumped at the chance to add Stuntman to his resume, when he was asked to do a fight scene with Ice Cube in the movie All About the Benjamins. He would later get beat up by Cube again in the movie Ride Along.
His stunt credits include such films and television shows as: Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White and the Huntsman, The Last Airbender, Agents of Shield, CSI Miami, Training Day and Powerless.
Throughout his stunt career Waite has been the stuntman for some of the biggest actors in Hollywood: Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Nicolas Cage and, up until his sad passing, Bill Paxton.
In 2013 Waite was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture – The Amazing Spider-Man. He was also part of the Stunt Ensembles for these Emmy Award Winning shows for Outstanding Stunt Coordination: ALIAS (2003), Chuck (2008/2009), Revolution (2013).
When he is not working you can find Tom in SoCal sitting on his surfboard waiting for that perfect wave.
